Booji Boy’s Basement

Booji Boy's Basement is a not-for-profit archive dedicated to preserving and sharing non-commercial DEVO and DEVO-related recordings. Originally launched in 2004, the project was rebuilt and relaunched in 2020 to bring years of fan history into a more organized digital home. Rather than building a traditional online store, the WordPress website uses a customized WooCommerce system as the foundation for an archival request process. Visitors can browse available recordings and submit requests without completing a conventional payment transaction, while the backend provides tools for organizing and managing fulfillment. The archive features structured tables and accordion layouts that help visitors navigate a substantial collection of recordings. Industrial-inspired styling pays tribute to DEVO's visual identity without sacrificing functionality. It's a good example of taking a familiar WordPress tool and making it do something it wasn't originally built for, all in service of preserving a little musical history.
